Melanie Thomas is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and licensed Dietitian in Houston, Texas. She attended Texas Southern University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and gained hospital experience at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake Hospital. She completed the Coordinated Program in Dietetics in conjunction with a Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences at Howard University in Washington DC.

Melanie is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the National Organization of Blacks in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Melanie was involved with scientific research at Howard University Titled: The Effect of Ketogenic Diets on Glycemic Control and Weight Loss Among Persons with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus; Evaluating The Impact of Nutrition Education on The Nutritional Status of Patients on Hemodialysis; The Use of The Nutrition Care Process In A Patient Newly Diagnosed With End Stage Renal Disease; The Perceptions and Attitudes Towards the Use of Mobile Technology to Facilitate a Nutrition Intervention to Improve Fruits and Vegetables Intake in College Students.
